At Armonia, we aim to offer many opportunities to our students, where they can put all their knowledge and skills into action. It is only then that the true purpose of learning is revealed.

A Trip to the Greek Seas

Art and Dance Workshop

On Saturday 18 May, at Armonia, we hosted a magnificent event in collaboration with the Leicester Greek Dancing Group and Ithaca, the Greek Cultural Society of Birmingham. The Art and Dance workshop with the title "A Trip to the Greek Seas" was an opportunity for the participants to experience the creativity and lively spirit of the Greek islands. Many thanks to everyone that joined us on that day.

Rusty Strings

In March 2024, at Armonia, we launched the Rusty Strings group under the guidance of the violin teacher and performer Helen Butterfield. The group has proven to be very popular with currently 5 violins, 4 cellos, a mandolin, and a ukulele to form the group. The group meets on Fridays from 1-2 pm.

14 February was a very special day for Armonia, as we launched the Little  Armonia through a special Family Time event. The session was designed for babies and children up to 4 years old. We sang, danced, explored age-appropriate musical instruments, and made new friends! We will host more similar sessions in the upcoming months, so stay tuned!

Christmas Fun Day

On Saturday 16 December 2023, Armonia was filled with creativity, music, and laughter! This year we organized a craft day for our families who created the most amazing ornaments under the guidance of Krisztina Dufala. The children played on the piano their favorite tunes and at the end of the session we accompanied the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker with body percussion. Merry Christmas to all! 🎄

Summer Production 2023

Our production was based on the compositions of Nikolas Sideris, "The Dusk of Day" and "The Dawn of Night", for piano for six hands. On stage along with the stories of Nefeli Tsipouridi, our students brought to life the story and adventures of young Brenn who lived on planet Cactus.

Art Day

During the preparations for our Summer Production 2023, we had the opportunity to work under the guidance of the local artist Traci Howard. Everyone had a great time and the results were amazing. If you want to find our more about the artist visit here.

Students' Art exhibition 2023

Maya and Tom are two of our students who love drawing and they do that constantly. It was only fair to host an art exhibition with their work, which actually inspired some other students to improvise on the piano. Here is an example of such improvisation.

Printing Workshop 2018

Under the guidance of the artist Julie Hoggarth, the participants had the opportunity to explore the secrets of printing.

Djembe drums workshop 2019

The percussionist Julie Wright, has many times organized djembe drumming events at Armonia, with enormous success and enthusiasm by the participants.

Expressions! 2019

The local artist Emma Fitzpatrick led the Expressions workshop, introducing children to different means and techniques of drawing. The final masterpiece was created along with the Palladio by Karl Jenkins. We then moved further and we treated the artwork as a music sheet, trying to interpret it on different instruments.

Compose Yourself! 2021 and 2022

Exploring the piano sounds can lead to fantastic improvisations and at Armonia we love improvising and composing. That's why we participated at the national Compose Yourself festival in 2021 and 2022. You can enjoy the talent of all these young composers here.

Music to Celebrate the Queen 2022

In collaboration with the community Arts Curator Liga Orlovska and the Drum and Brass organization. The children participated in a creative writing workshop and then composed music to celebrate the Queen!  To learn more about the amazing work of the Drum and Brass visit here.
